Hi all,

First thanks for the great workflow activities! Sadly I receive an error while trying to use the "call a webservice" action.

I  recieve the following error message "Error in HTTP-Request: The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error." This is normally caused by an incorrect SOAP request envelope. I've tried a few variations and they all give the same message. Below the information that I used for "GetUserInfo" (usergroup.asmx).

input (removed company/personal info):
- web service url (tested and working): http://portal.companyname.com/_vti_bin/usergroup.asmx
- SOAP version: 1.2
- Action: Empty (SOAP 1.2)
- SOAP Request Envelope:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?>
<soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
  <soap:Body>
    <GetUserInfo xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/directory/">
      <userLoginName>company\username</userLoginName>
    </GetUserInfo>
  </soap:Body>
</soap:Envelope>

user name: domain\username
password: pa$$word!
Appid: empty (since i used the other option)
Output: stringSOAPOutput

The SharePoint logs and IIS logs did not provide any information about the error. I also tried some other web services / SOAP version but they all gave the same error. I hope that anyone knows what causes this behavior or what I'm doing wrong :)

Thanks in advance!

Edit: I found out that not all web services are returning an error, for example the one mentioned in the manual (add list item) is working.

Hello Rodger,

i actually have the same problem and also tried few variations, but i still get this "Error in HTTP-Request: The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error."

Did you solve the problem?

Thanks

Some web services that I've used require login names to be in following format

<userLoginName>company\\username</userLoginName>

Hello,

I had the same problem.
You can find in your log the envelope send by ilove sharepoint code.

When i send a SOAP envelope without variable like workflow variable or CurrentItem, i must add only 2 "\\".

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <soap12:Envelope xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:soap12="http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope"> <soap12:Body> <AddGroup xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/directory/"> <groupName>ewrewrewrewrmemb</groupName> <ownerIdentifier>demo"\\"s-spfarm2010server</ownerIdentifier> <ownerType>user</ownerType> <defaultUserLoginName>demo"\\"s-spfarm2010server</defaultUserLoginName> <description>dfsdfdsfsdfdsf</description> </AddGroup> </soap12:Body> </soap12:Envelope>

But if i send with variable i must add "\\"

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <soap12:Envelope xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:soap12="http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope"> <soap12:Body> <AddGroup xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/soap/directory/"> <groupName>ewrewrewrewrmemb</groupName> <ownerIdentifier>demo"\\\\"s-spfarm2010server</ownerIdentifier> <ownerType>user</ownerType> <defaultUserLoginName>demo"\\\\"s-spfarm2010server</defaultUserLoginName> <description>dfsdfdsfsdfdsf</description> </AddGroup> </soap12:Body> </soap12:Envelope>

I dont know why but i'm looking for a correction.
